About Judge Wade Padgett
Judge Wade Padgett is a lifelong Georgian with more than three decades of service in the legal profession. A former prosecutor, private attorney and trial judge, he was appointed to the Georgia Court of Appeals in 2024. Known for his fairness, deep preparation, and commitment to the rule of law, he has built a career focused on integrity, education, and service to his community.
Born and raised in the Atlanta metro area, Wade is the son of a career police officer and public school teacher. Before serving on the Court of Appeals, Judge Padgett began his legal career in the Augusta Judicial Circuit, transitioned to private practice, then was elected Chief Magistrate and later appointed to the Superior Court.
